This video was designed and created as a humorous animated explainer on the history of the wheel. This animation is part of 1 in a series of 16 animations for Robotics U. All 16 videos were designed to serve as companion animations to Robotics U's educational toy-line. Because of this, several elements would remain consistent throughout all the videos, including the overall look and feel, the voice of the narrator and the inclusion of our "whiz-kid", seen several times in this animation.
The animation was created using Adobe Illustrator, Maxon Cinema 4D, and Adobe After Effects. The 2d character animation was done in AE using Duik, which you can find using the link below:

The animation was originally designed to be 2048 x 1536 in pixels, with the main "action" in the frame taking place in an area roughly 1920 x 1080. The animation has since been resized slightly to accommodate viewing on the web. I also added back a few touches that were removed from the final to keep up conformity in all the other videos.
I also added the music that plays under the narrator, which is Piano Sonata No. 11 in A Major (K. 331) (300), Third Movement: Alla Turca.
Below are several stills from the animation as well. Enjoy!
